The Fairy Realm

Sue-Ryn recommended a book (you can get it on her web site called Dancing with the Devas by Trish Telesco. This book was a big help to better understand Devas (the Elementals) and how to work with them.

Trish Telesco defines Devas as: "the semi-divine Elemental entities of Spirit, Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. Each element has specific correspondences with the directions, moon phases, astrological signs, plants, animals and attributes. And each Elemental - and the benefits and powers they bestow - can be accessed directly by various means, methods and techniques."

More About Devas and The Elements they associate with!

The four main elements are Earth, Air, Fire and Water, along with the element of Spirit-Ether-Void.

Air is said to reside in the east and is the element representing thought, learning and movement.

Fire resides in the south providing energy, passion and drastic transformation.

Water stands in the west, becoming the emotional and intuitive point.

Earth is in the north, representing growth and foundations

Spirit resides in the center of All, within and without, having no physical attribute.

You may find that different traditions might put the element in a different direction, but the quality of the element is the same and Spirit is always in the center of All. Spirit doesn’t reside within a certain element and is the common meeting ground where all are present. For the most part, it is thought that Elementals or Devas do not go far from the element they are associated with.

Telesco says that:

Ž "Sylphs command the air, looking much like the traditional fairies of lore.

Ž Undines (mer-creatures) command the water.

Ž Gnomes care for the earth.

Ž Salamanders live in fire."

There are other creatures as well, but this gives you the idea.

Telesco gives these descriptions to see if you recognize which element you most relate to and suggest that at first you ask guidance from those!

Ž  Earth people often have hobbies like gardening or hiking (e.g., being with nature). Earth personalities are often annoyed by the proverbial gypsy spirits who seem to fly hither and yon without any foundation. Earth personalities frequently like the colors of green, brown and black. Mind you, these are generalities but you see what I mean.

Ž Air: Enjoys travel, adventure, freedom and/or athletic endeavors that require movement. May be soft spoken with periodic outbursts. Favorite colors are yellow, white or pastels. Wears light, airy fabrics, and dislikes people who are rigid and overly concerned with rules.

Ž Fire: Has tons of energy but a tendency to overdo everything. Boisterous, sometimes loud, intense presence and a good motivator. Favorite colors are red, orange and bright blue. Dislikes wishy-washy people who can’t seem to take a stand. May enjoy saunas, tanning, building bonfires, etc.

Ž Water: Tends toward good manners and being the proverbial "mother" to everyone. Favorite colors are blue, purple and sea greens. Dislikes hot-headed people who show no personal control, and also dislikes conflict. Hobbies may include swimming, fishing, and boating.

She says to not ignore the elements you don’t relate with, as they can teach you about what you are missing. For ease sake, start with the ones that seem most familiar to you!

She also tells us that Elementals, unlike Angels and Masters, don’t necessarily have an urge to connect with us and rarely take notice of the average human. They do, on the other hand, respond and are attracted to loving, industrial, innocent, happy, playful and compassionate vibrations. This brings to mind that they don’t respond well to commands and invocations! Also, remember that we need to ask for positive connection and communication.

Which Element helps for what?

How do you know which Elementals are helpful for what questions and issues? Well, some makes sense in that since each Elemental is associated with an element, look to the element as a clue. This is one of the reasons that you need to get to know your elements if you want to work with it’s Elemental! Telesco gives us the following as a Guideline:

Air: The power of imagination, learning, creativity, new endeavors and ideas, serendipity (finding an answer or solution by accident that is really no accident), revelation, encouragement, motivation, change, wind magic, whimsy and hope. Indirectly Air also has fertile qualities because it carries seeds.

Fire: Overcoming difficulties or obstacles, psychic and psychological cleansing, mischief, energy and power (be careful here—Fire can warm or burn), zeal, sun magic, protection and purification (violet flame), drastic transformations that lead to renewal with time.

Water: Intuition and instinct, healing, sensitivity, emotions, cleansing, the ability to flow with life, the maternal nature, generative and fertile forces, psychism, moon magic, and growth.

Earth: Prosperity or other financial matters, practicality, tenacity, constancy, uniformity, cycles, devotion, foundations, Gaia-centered magic, and sensible perspectives or solutions.

It is quite elemental ... excuse the pun! You wouldn’t go to the Fire Deva to solve a question of relationship. You wouldn’t ask the Water Deva to help you get motivated! Unless a maybe, you needed motivation for cleaning or going swimming! Ask for a favorable visit and be aware of what happens! Remember, they don’t have to come, but if treated with respect and heart centeredness, you just might convince one to visit!

To order Dancing With Devas, by Trish Telesco, contact Hillwoman (Sue-Ryn) at www.Hillwoman.com or try your local bookstore. Sue-Ryn has agreed, just for us reading this, to make personalized charm bags to attract the Spirit Guide energy of your choice. Again, a pouch isn’t magic, but it sends out our intent. These bags are made individually, just for you! All you do is give her your name, birthday, a favorite creature (elemental, animal etc.), favorite holiday (doesn’t have to be in the formal calendar!), favorite color, favorite shape, what myth or story you are drawn to, what culture you might be drawn to and maybe write her a little note about what you are looking for! (Don’t worry if you don’t have an answer for each of the questions, just give Sue-Ryn as much information as you can!) She will create a Charm bag for you and send it off to you via mail! The bags are $15 plus shipping. You can reach her through her website which is a link from "My Favorite Links" page on my website! She also makes Fairy charm bags! Make sure you mention that you heard of these offers through the Psychicsupport.com website, because she agreed to make these at this price for this website only!
