In March of 1996, I made a decision that has altered my entire life path. I became a Priest in the order of Melchizedek. The decision originally was not made out of religious fervor, in fact it started out as a business decision. As a priest, I can perform healings, weddings, and pastoral counseling. (please check your own area for legal information!) I figured that if Ginny, the owner of Sunburst Crystal, was sponsoring this than it had to be on the up and up, but I still wasn't 100% sure it was for me! As the day grew closer for the ordinations, I started to read the literature, and talk to other people. I found out most of my closest friends were going to get ordained! I had to work that day and couldn't attend the all day seminar that preceded the ordination, so I didn't quite know what the ceremony represented. (I highly recommend the all day seminar!) All I saw was this man, who really didn't look like a priest, doing a ceremony with an old walking stick. The thing that impressed me was the energy in the room and the look of rapture, not only on the face of the one being ordained, but on the rest of the group as well. I have attended other ordinations since, that look is always the same! I also watched Dan, who was doing the ordination, do two knee bends each, times that by 90 people... now that is dedication! As I waited my turn, I intuitively came to understand the importance of what I was about to do! It was finally my turn, and when I sat down, I was captured by the tenderness and love emanating out of this man in front of me. He anointed my chakras with water and then the most beautiful smelling oil, as well as anointing the hands and the feet. (This is where the knee bends took place) The ordination continued for another minute or two and then I felt it. As he placed his hands on my crown chakra, I felt a joy run through me that I had never felt before. I wanted to jump, laugh and cry all at the same time! I was "now and forever more, a priest in the order of Melchizedek." The order has no requirements, they don't care if you're Catholic or Buddhist. You don't change your religion when you become a priest. The first to be ordained was a woman and we are now over 5,000 strong. If you send me a SASE, I will mail you the literature that I have. What this all means to me, and each priest may feel differently, is that I have vowed to live a life that represents my connection with spirit. That I will teach through my example, and offer healings only with permission. I've committed my life to bringing through the light in whatever way Spirit asks me. By becoming a priest I have made a formal commitment to Spirit. My outlook on my future path has been greatly altered to the point that every day I ask "Divine Spirit, send me, use me."
